Cultural note
A greeting goes a long way. Open with السلام عليكم (as-salaamu 3alaykum) or مرحبا before asking a question — jumping straight to a request can seem abrupt. If someone does not understand you, writing the word down or using a translation app is common and perfectly acceptable. In taxis without meters, agree on the price before you set off.
