Perché questa tastiera

Fatta per imparare, non per digitare veloce

La tastiera araba standard è per chi digita velocemente. Questa è per chi vuole ascoltare e imparare ogni lettera.

Learn by sound

Type the English sound you hear — b for ب, t for ت — and the keyboard gives you the Arabic letter.

Hear every letter

Click any letter and choose a vowel — fatha, kasra, or damma — to hear the exact pronunciation.

Listen to your text

Type a word or sentence, hit Listen, and hear it spoken aloud — powered by neural Arabic TTS.

FAQ

Domande Frequenti

Tutto ciò che devi sapere sulla tastiera fonetica araba.

What is a phonetic keyboard?+
A phonetic keyboard maps Arabic letters to their English sound equivalents — so pressing "b" gives you "ب" (baa), pressing "t" gives you "ت" (taa), and so on. It is designed for people learning Arabic who think in English sounds.
How is this different from the Arabic Keyboard?+
The standard Arabic Keyboard uses the Arabic 101 layout where physical key positions map to letters — great for fast typing. The Phonetic Keyboard maps English SOUNDS to letters — great for learning. You also get vowel audio and TTS, which the standard keyboard does not have.
What are harakat (vowels)?+
Harakat are the short vowel marks in Arabic: fatha (َ, "a" sound), kasra (ِ, "i" sound), and damma (ُ, "u" sound). They are placed above or below consonants to indicate pronunciation. This keyboard lets you hear each vowel combination.
Can I use this on my phone?+
Absolutely. The phonetic keyboard is designed for touch screens — tap the letter you want, choose a vowel, and hear the sound. No keyboard switching needed.
Does the TTS work offline?+
The letter audio files (from the /alphabet/ folder) play instantly since they are pre-recorded. The full-text TTS (Listen button) uses an online service, so it needs an internet connection.
Who is this keyboard for?+
It is built for beginners learning Arabic — especially English speakers who want to connect Arabic letters to sounds they already know. If you are just starting with the alphabet, this is the right tool.
